The Java ecosystem has myriads of libraries and projects that can be used to create the features our customers require, there's no shortage of options everywhere you look when it comes to writing production code. But what about testing code? If you ascribe to the Clean Code ideals then you know that testing code is as important as production code. Luckily there are a good number of libraries that can be used with popular testing frameworks. In this session we'll discover how to write better parameterized tests; take care of concurrency related events; spy/mock/stub out collaborators to ensure cleaner and isolated tests; fake out REST APIs to test out client code; fake out REST clients to test out server code, and more.

The Java language has passed its 20th anniversary, and with it comes an incredible range of tools libraries to choose from; sometimes there are actually too many choices for the same task. This presentation covers those libraries that have risen to the top, having proved themselves to be worthy of a place in every developer’s toolbox, for both production and testing code. It also discusses some fairly new libraries that are bound to make a big impact in the ecosystem.

Original Title: Azure In-Memory Computing: Start a 4000 cores 60TB RAM cluster in 30 mins

Synopsis:
In-Memory Computing brings the ability to do everything on the fly, analytics and calculations as well, and the ActiveViam In-Memory analytical platform has long been a secret weapon of large organisations to deliver operational analytics on Big Data. But today Microsoft Azure and ActiveViam have partnered to build an in-memory analytics cluster that everyone can use. It takes advantage of scalable cloud storage and powerful servers you can start on demand, so you can get thousands of cores and tens of terabytes of memory up and running in less than 30 minutes. Join us for the full story! We'll share what we learned and give all the steps to do it.

Speaker 1: Antoine Chambille

Antoine is a tech leader and the creator of the ActiveViam analytical platform, now a global benchmark for real-time analytics in Java. Regular speaker at international tech conferences such as JavaOne, Devoxx or Discover, Antoine's favourite topics are In-Memory Computing, Big Data and Cloud Computing.

Speaker 2: Nida Bouzid

Nida is currently the Technical Manager of ActiveViam in APAC. Nida and his team work on implementing, supporting and deploying ActiveViam products for financial institutions (banks, exchanges, asset managers, hedge funds….).

In the region for about 7 years, he joined ActiveViam in 2007 and was part of the Paris R&D team.

Prior to that, he has served as a Senior Technical Consultant within Misys Treasury and Capital Market in Paris as a consultant on Summit Systems software.
