Scaling Engineering Organizations with Patterns

When the amount of work increases and the engineering organization grows, architecture needs to adapt to support avalanche of requirements and ever-increasing number of engineers.

In this talk, we’ll review patterns of scaling requirements, teams and architecture along with their respective strengths and challenges. Patterns are presented in a systemic way in an attempt to provide completeness. After that we will review several common combinations of scaling patterns and analyze their fit for purpose in a given context.

The talk will be presented as a growth journey of a fictional organization, highlighting key scaling decisions and lessons learned as a result.
